Ingrid joined the student services team in Term 3 of 2015, working alongside Sam Boardman during Sarah Sharples’ maternity leave. She then took up the role of Year 9 dean in 2016, working alongside Sam Lilly. Her hope is to follow the cohort to when they are Year 13 leavers, assisting them in their pastoral and academic needs.
Ingrid is a specialist Biology and Science teacher, having joined Takapana Grammar in 2003. During the subsequent years she had the role of Acting Head of Biology and became involved in extra-curricular programmes by assisting with Tennis, Basketball and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Ingrid is married and has two sons, aged 19 and 22, both of whom attended Takapuna Grammar School and are studying at Auckland University and AUT.
Year 12:
Hayden Viles
Hayden Viles joined the student service team as a Year 11 dean in 2017. Hayden has a particular interest in the pastoral care of all students. This is because he feels developing strong authentic relationships and tracking academic progress will increase the chances of academic achievement. Hayden is a Physical Education and Health specialist teacher, who coaches the First XV rugby team and tutors pre-service teachers from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Hayden has been employed by Takapuna Grammar School for nine years and is currently undertaking post graduate studies. Hayden is married to Mandy and they have a gorgeous little man, Marco.
