Water Polo and Rugby team trips over the School Holidays!...click here for latest results!

Over the school holidays teams from two TGS sporting codes will be away competing across the country.

Both the Senior Girls and Senior Boys Water Polo teams will be leaving to compete in Rotorua, in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Division B Water Polo Championships, where they will be competing over four days against schools from across New Zealand.

This is the final league for the senior water polo players this year, following a successful campaign with the boys winning their respective College Sport competition, and the girls placing second. Good luck to these two teams, and their coaching/ managing staff.

***UPDATE*** The boys won their first game 7-6 vs St Bernard's of Wellington, drew with St Patrick's of Silverstream and lost to Hamilton Boys. This puts them through to the quarter finals vs Western Springs being played on Friday 20th April.....lets go TGS!!!

The boys team ended up finishing 7th out of 16 teams which is a great result in a very strong national competition.

Our TGS Rugby 1st XV squad are also heading down the line to the deep south where they are finishing the last of their pre-season before heading into the North Harbour 1st XV Canon A competition in term 2, where they will be taking on Birkenhead College at home then Rosmini away for their first round.

This tour comes off the back of two successful pre-season wins against touring Canadian side North Vancouver High school and a win last weekend against Botany Downs College.

The boys will be travelling between travelling between the Lake Districts, Dunedin, and Christchurch, where they will play two teams: South Otago High School, from Balclutha, and St. Thomas's from Christchurch. All the best to the boys and the coaching/ management staff heading away with them.

***UPDATE*** The squad have returned home unbeaten with 2 wins from 2 after scores of 45-12 over South Otago Boys High, and 50-24 over St Thomas of Canterbury College, Christchurch. A fantastic pair of results and great finish to their pre-season training. Bring on their first North Harbour competition home game vs Birkenhead College on Saturday 28th April. Come on down and welcome the boys home!!!
