Students Inspired after 5 Day Blake Inspire Programme
Last week three of our senior students, Ankia Van Zyl, Tate Agnew, and Elka Drozdowski had the incredible opportunity of attending the 2022 Blake Inspire Program, a five-day-long residential environmental leadership program in partnership with the Ministry for the Environment and Blake NZ.
Students were selected from around the country to attend the action-packed five days, with activities ranging from kayaking, political simulations, composting workshops, and presentations on climate change. It exposed students to the various environmental challenges facing Aotearoa, as well as what we can do to combat these challenges.
It opened the eyes of the candidates to the great potential every individual has to make environmental change and provided them with the right connections and base knowledge to enact such a change. As Ankia says “Blake Inspire left me inspired!’.
