Covid-19 Alert L3: Letter to Parents, Caregivers (11/08)Dear parents, students and whanau,
Many of you will have heard the announcement made by the Prime Minister on Tuesday (11.08) evening that Auckland is returning to COVID-19 Level 3 Alert from midday Wednesday 12 August.
Everyone is asked to stay home from work and school from Wednesday morning unless they are essential workers or students of essential workers.
I am advising that Takapuna Grammar School is closed immediately for the rest of this week. All students should stay home unless their parents are essential workers who are unable to provide supervision at home. These students are asked to report to the main reception desk at 9.30am. They will be supervised by staff but should bring their own computer and any work they are able to do. These students will be working independently while at school, as students at home will be doing.
As this announcement was very sudden, some students may have work or equipment they need to pick from school. They may do so before Auckland officially commences Level 3 lockdown at midday 12 August. Students needing to collect work or other equipment from school should report to the main reception desk in the Main Building at 9.30am on Wednesday 12 August. Staff will help them with their needs and then they will return home.
All students are expected to do their own work independently at home in the same way they did during lockdown earlier this year. Further information about remote programme learning will be provided once this has been set up with our staff.
The Senior Leadership Team is meeting on Wednesday to plan for our staff and students’ needs over the next few days and beyond if necessary. I will let you know any further information and decisions that you need to be aware of.
If you have any questions, please email the school on [email protected]
If you have any concerns about your students, please contact the dean.
Thank you all for your support and trust. Together we will navigate our way forward in the best way possible for our students, staff and families.
