L3 Biology Students case study of Human Evolution
Level 3 Biology students got hands-on experience in Human Evolution at Auckland Zoo in Western Springs earlier this month.
The students got the opportunity to study and classify primates' features up close and personal. Educators at the zoo used skulls, a model chimpanzee and a human skeleton to compare changes linked to bipedalism from head to toe. Students identified biological and cultural trends through observation of a range of replica hominid skulls and tools.
After the seminar students got the opportunity to walk through the zoo and see all the primates and animals on display. A unique and highly educational experience for our year 13's.
