UN Youth Club attend MUNA 2023
Last weekend, nine students from Takapuna Grammar school represented Austria (Mila White, Olivia Lin, and Leonard Mahlstedt), Kazakhstan (Sienna Kerr, Paloma Touchaud, and Charlie Chen), and Egypt (Yolanda Chai, Scarlett Murphy, and Peter Surge) in this year’s annual Model United Nations Assembly, where students delivered two minute speeches in front of around one hundred other students.
These speeches reflected their country’s perspective on issues such as the environment, clean water access, and the Ukrainian-Russian war. The event was run by the North Harbour Rotary, and all students attending were immensely appreciative of the effort put into making MUNA 2023 possible. This year’s Model United Nations Assembly was a success, and students attending were able to gain or improve their public speaking experience, meet new friends, and overall have a blast!
The TGS UN Youth club would like to thank the North Harbour Rotary for orchestrating this amazing event full of awesome opportunities for all students in the North Shore!
