TGS Shave for a Cure Team raises $8.5k...and climbing!
On Thursday the 7th of September ten brave students were cheered on by a supportive audience as they lost their hair for Leukemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.
Shave For a Cure has become a staple of the school calendar and this years event was an incredible success. Between the 10 shavee's - from all years - the school has raised $8,475 (to date!). This astounding amount of money will go a long way to providing hope for the families dealing with blood cancer across the country. Seeing students so courageously forgoing their hair in front of their encouraging peers and families was a beautiful sight which provoked an emotional response from the audience.
A massive thank you to all the students who shaved their heads and to everyone who supported the event financially or otherwise.
