The Show Must Go On - TGS Fashion Show dazzles again
On the 25th of September, the Bruce Mason Centre was transformed into a classy circus top. Draped with red and white silks the annual TGS fashion show was yet another incredible showcase. This years theme “The Show Must Go On” presented garments from Takapuna Grammar as well as guest college St Kentigern.
Opening the show soloist dancer Maddie Blair and Cactus dance company captivated the audience via performing a slick number to ‘Don’t stop me now’. Soon after came the all awaited fashion! Models strutted the stage featuring both popular local and student designers. Including Echo, Isaac + Lulu, Hospice, and Yarntons. In addition to student work such as year 10 clown onesies corsets, ball gowns and stunning sustainable pieces. Coming close to the end of the evening Danny Bublitz treated the audience with a vocal performance of ‘I’ve got you under my skin’.
But behind the lights backstage it was a show in itself. It was clear the extent of time and effort that was applied by the Level 3 Soft Technology class and the wonderful Ms Woodward. Not forgetting the fabulous team of models, dressers, stage management and hair and makeup artists. A huge thank you to everyone involved and those that supported such an incredible evening. All profits raised will go towards the life-changing health service YouthLine, a charity providing an immense amount of support to the teens of Aotearoa.
