Tū Tangata Juniors Visit Vauxhall Primary
On Monday 11 September, to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, Tū Tangata juniors spent an afternoon down at Vauxhall Primary for a cultural kapahaka exchange. It was refreshing for some of the ex-Vauxhall Primary students (now in Tū Tangata), to return to their primary school and inspire some of their teina.
This visit also provided an opportunity for some of the juniors to step up into leadership roles as the senior Tū Tangata students were away on study leave. Although the kapahaka tutor for Vauxhall Primary was away, the students still got up and responded with a couple of their items. This wonderful afternoon finished with Tū Tangata sharing one of their waiata with Vauxhall Primary.
