The Takapuna Grammar School Framework expresses the shared values and approaches to learning that shape who we are as a school. Developed with input from students, staff, whānau, and the wider community, it defines the principles that guide how we learn, how we relate to one another, and how we contribute to our world. It affirms our commitment to academic achievement, personal excellence, and quality teaching and learning.
Takapuna Grammar School is a diverse, inclusive community where each student is valued and supported to achieve their best. Through our values and approaches to learning, we prepare students to thrive in a rapidly changing world, contribute with purpose, and lead with integrity. We aim to foster a culture of belonging, aspiration, and excellence for all.

This value reflects our commitment to creating a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and mutual support. The symbol for Whanaungatanga is four sides woven together to form a whānau, representing the strength and interconnection of relationships.

Curiosity
Students seek to extend learning through thoughtful questioning, creative ideas, openness to different perspectives, and critical thinking. The symbol for Curiosity is a shape with lines in varied directions, reflecting outward thinking, consideration of all sides, and thoughtful reflection.
Commitment
Students demonstrate organisation, discipline, diligence and initiative. They have a strong work ethic. The symbol for Commitment is the poutama pattern, symbolising continual progress, learning, and dedication to the journey ahead.
Knowledge
In the framework, knowledge is represented as a thread woven through both the approaches to learning and the values, providing the foundation that connects and sustains them. Academic knowledge, together with broader understandings, enables learners to build depth and breadth, to draw purposeful connections across contexts, and to apply their learning in ways that foster both personal growth and collective success.
A Shared Commitment
The Takapuna Grammar School Framework is our foundation. It reflects who we are, what we stand for, and how we strive for excellence together. Every member of our community - students, staff, whānau - shares the responsibility to uphold these values and approaches so that our school continues to be a place where everyone can belong, aspire, and succeed.
