Welcome to Takapuna Grammar School. This school is a big, diverse family and we value each student’s uniqueness. The school has a strong academic focus with two world class qualification pathways available. New Zealand’s NCEA and the International Baccalaureate are both broad learning platforms that provide excellent opportunities for students to achieve their personal best and pursue a wide range of tertiary study and career pathways.

Takapuna Grammar School sits atop the Takapuna cliffs, offering commanding views of Rangitoto Island and the Waitemata Harbour. The 12-hectare campus features groomed grounds, playing fields, heritage buildings, and modern educational facilities.
Located on Auckland’s North Shore, the school is a short walk or bus ride from Devonport's amenities and a 12-minute ferry ride to Auckland's CBD. The North Shore, close to the city’s waters, is often called Auckland’s crown jewel.
Enrolments
Takapuna Grammar School has an enrolment scheme that determines who can enrol at the school. Students may apply for entry under two categories. The Online Enrolment Form is used for both in zone and out of zone applications.

Valuing Our Heritage
Takapuna Grammar School is one of the oldest secondary schools on Auckland’s North Shore. It stands proudly on a beautiful site overlooking the Hauraki Gulf with buildings that both honour the heritage and are innovative learning environments. The school attains excellent academic results year after year and is represented regionally, nationally and internationally in a wide range of pursuits. These include sport, music, drama, business, science and technology. Many alumni excel in their fields of endeavour which cover a huge range of disciplines and community services.
The school is a hub for the local community with almost all the students from contributing schools attending Takapuna Grammar School. The local schools have formed a Community of Learning to promote a seamless pathway of education from early childhood to tertiary level. There are strong international relationships and opportunities for global experiences. Overseas tours are organised for various subjects and areas of interest and our international students add an interesting dimension.
