Tū Tangata

What is Tū Tangata about?

Tū Tangata is a class that installs the values of Māori Kaupapa.    

Tū Tangata is designed to assist the development of students within a Māori context. Students are mentored on the importance of ceremony, protocol, leadership and cooperation. 

Students learn and participate in Māori Tikanga, have opportunities for student leadership, receive extra academic support through homework clubs and student/staff mentoring. 

There are opportunities for whānau to work alongside the school to ensure student success. Tū Tangata activities are conducted before school, after school, or during normal school time.

Why join Tū Tangata?

Students who join Tū Tangata feel part of a special whānau within the school. Often representing the school in both internal and public ceremonies.  Members have opportunies to grow and develop leadership skills.
