Year 9 Breakfast

The inaugural PTA breakfast was a resounding success, with many Year 9 students and their parents in attendance.

The PTA invited Year 13 students Scarlett Somerville-Ryan and Keifer Holliday to speak about their experiences at Takapuna Grammar School. They shared how the numerous opportunities offered at the school shaped their journey and helped define their next steps. Both students spoke candidly about the highs and lows they faced over the years, highlighting how these experiences built their resilience and determination to succeed despite setbacks. Their heartfelt stories brought smiles, laughter, and even a few tears to the audience.

Principal Mary Nixon also addressed the attendees, sharing her vision for Takapuna Grammar School. Drawing from her visits to international schools around the globe, she emphasized how the school stands out in its holistic approach, focusing on developing the whole person through a wide range of sports, cultural opportunities, and clubs.

The event featured a warm and inviting atmosphere where students, parents, prefects, and senior teachers mingled over a delightful breakfast spread, including croissants, bagels, chia bowls, and muffins, accompanied by coffee and hot chocolate from Toasted Espresso. The PTA was thrilled with the turnout and is eager to host more events in the coming year.

Looking ahead, the next breakfast is planned for Term 1, offering Year 9 students and their parents a chance to connect with the school community. All funds raised from these events go toward resources that benefit all students at Takapuna Grammar School.

Christmas Fundraiser

The PTA Christmas Fundraiser featuring ‘Our Peninsula’ merchandise was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible support and community spirit of Takapuna Grammar School. The campaign received an overwhelming response, with many families purchasing unique and practical items like tea towels, tote bags, and beach towels, as well as festive cards and prints.

The display table in the main office block generated significant interest, allowing families to view the merchandise in person before placing their orders. The convenience of ordering through Kindo also made the process seamless for busy parents and caregivers.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of our school community, we sold out of several popular items and raised substantial funds. These proceeds will go directly toward enhancing school resources, benefiting all students.

The campaign not only supported the school but also brought a touch of festive joy to families as they prepared for the holiday season. The special Christmas promotional bundles were particularly well-received, making it easy for buyers to pick up thoughtful gifts while contributing to a worthy cause.

We are grateful to everyone who supported the fundraiser, from those who purchased items to the dedicated volunteers who helped with logistics. Your efforts made this initiative a success, and we look forward to continuing to bring meaningful campaigns to our community.

Thank you for your support and for making a positive impact on our school!
